The hotel is located in an area that is perfect for bike tourism. By heading just a few kilometres inland you will find yourself immersed in Romagna's peaceful countryside, which is still crisscrossed by quiet roads with little traffic. There is also a wide variety of cycling routes, as the first hills lie just 10-15 km from Gatteo Mare.
These roads gradually lead up to the villages of Borghi, Roncofreddo, Longiano and Sogliano sul Rubicone; in addition, the beautiful towns of San Marino and San Leo lie just 40-50 km away.
Recently, interesting routes have been mapped out specifically for mountain bike lovers.
In just a few minutes by bike, the crowded beaches are left behind as you head into the peaceful, hilly areas.
The Nove Colli is a long-distance race held in May in the hinterland of Romagna's Riviera, in the provinces of Forlì-Cesena, Rimini and Pesaro-Urbino, and starts off and arrives in Cesenatico (5 km away from us).
It is one of the most prestigious events of its kind and one of the oldest (it has been held since 1971) and probably sees greater numbers of participants than any other in Italy (the maximum number of participants has been set at around 11,000 cycling enthusiasts). The event owes its name to the fact that during the race cyclists tackle nine different ascents. The cyclists can opt for two different courses: middle (130 km) and long (200km) which differ in terms of the length, number of ascents and the differences in height.
